This state of the art card reader provides almost unlimited possibilities. The USB reader enables full RS232 communication over USB. It is not only ISO7816 compatible but is 100% ISO7816.

Existing 3rd party software can be used through the COM Port, although connected through USB. Currently 3rd party software requires a Phoenix/Smartmouse compatible reader through a Serial/COM port.

The fullspeed USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 compliant) interface and powerful CPU ensures the fastest communication possible. The high-end design of the reader is of very high quality.

The firmware is flashable and upgradeable. Future smartcards and features can be added without the need for new hardware.

A built in frequency generator makes it possible to generate all regularly used smartcard frequencies.

The Smargo Smartreader Plus is the leading smartcard reader on the market. Due to its success, a low quality Chinese clone was introduced.

The fake Smartreader can damage smartcards, resets often during operations and usually breaks down.

We want to help customers ensure they purchase a high quality genuine Smartreader with 1 year RTB guarantee.

You can easily determineif a Smartreader is a clone by observing the following:

1. New arrow model == Housing, sticker and improved firmware version 1.04 or higher

We stopped production of the round shape around the 1st quarter of 2009. The housing of a genuine Smargo Smartreader now has an arrow shape.

On the back of the Smargo Smartreader you find a sticker. The Max Digital logo can only be found on a genuine Smargo Smartreader.

New models are shipped from the 2nd quarter of 2010 only with new 1.04 software or higher.

2. Do not buy the old model smartreader ! It is not available and therefore probably fake.

If you buy a Smargo Smartreader witha round case, you will probably have a fake/clone version.

Some clones can be detected by opening the housing. The warranty of a genuine Smargo Smartreader will not become void because of opening the case.

3. Smartcard connector inside the housing

If you open the smartreader you will see letters on the black smartcard connector. The letters "MUP" indicate that your smartreader is a fake.
